The earth is the Lord's, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.

For he hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods.

Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord? or who shall stand in his holy place?

He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.

He shall receive the blessing from the Lord, and righteousness from the God of his salvation.

This is the generation of them that seek him, that seek thy face, O Jacob. Selah.

Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.

Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle.

Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.

Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, he is the King of glory. Selah.

"It is from the risen and ascended Christ that the true light shines, in which the beauties of this song of triumph may be seen and worthily enjoyed. For it was through the suffering of death that it behoved the King of glory to enter openly, upon His rights (Luke 24:26). Jesus, having descended in self-emptied lowliness of perfect grace, has now ascended far above all heavens. The holy hill was His, by right and virtue of His own perfection as the Holy One of God; but for our sakes He would have His entrance into the heavenly courts through the blood-shedding of eternal redemption (Heb. 9:12). By faith, therefore, God's chosen have already passed, in their Forerunner, within the everlasting gates (Eph. 2:6). The doors of heaven are thrown freely open to the entering worshipper, whose access into the holiest is with confidence by the faith of Him (Heb. 10:19-22; Eph. 3:12). By Him he may in spirit continually draw nigh, while in Him he abides unceasingly in the cloudless presence of the Father of lights. Henceforth his home is there. He is, therefore, a stranger and a pilgrim here below. Christ's sheep go in and out, and find their pasture in His name (John 10:9)."

He Is the Worthy Lamb "God will provide Himself a lamb." Genesis 22:8  "Your lamb shall be without blemish." Exodus 12:5; 1 Peter 1:19   "He was brought as a lamb to the slaughter." Isaiah 53:7   "Behold the lamb of God." John 1:29   "Worthy is the lamb that was slain." Revelation 5:12  The last book of the Bible is "The Book of the Lamb." In it, Christ is spoken of more than twenty times, in different connections, as the Lamb. Promised as the divine Lamb, in the fullness of time, Christ was provided as the Lamb and John reminds us of how the vast angelic host, along with the living creatures and elders exalt His worthiness as God's Lamb. "The sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God." Ephesians 6:17  " The Word of God . . . sharper than any two-edged sword." Hebrews 4 :12  "The sword of the Lord, and of Gideon." Judges 7:18  "The sword . . . There is none like that: give it me." 1 Samuel 21:9  "My sword shall be bathed in heaven." Isaiah 34:5  In this militant metaphor we have the promise of conquest, victory, and dominion. The Bible as our sword is the weapon we use as soldiers against spiritual foes. It was thus that Jesus used the Scriptures in His contest with Satan in the wilderness temptation. In three different ways he assailed Jesus, but all He did was to give the enemy three thrusts of the sword. The three, " It is written, " were sufficient to defeat Satan ( Matthew 4: 4, 7, 10).
